The chair is the chief administrative officer of the department and is responsible for the general direction and supervision of the department. Degrees offered include a master's degree in economic development and undergraduate degrees in casino, hospitality and tourism management. The department also offers two certificate programs in economic development and casino management.
A terminal degree in economic development, tourism or related field and eligibility for appointment at the rank of associate professor or professor is required. Candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a minimum of three years of teaching experience and two years of experience in a leadership position.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
The preferred candidate will have a terminal degree in economic development, tourism or related business discipline with demonstrated leadership skills and commitment to scholarship and teaching. He or she will have four or more years administrative experience, the ability to collaborate with multiple constituencies in the university and business communities, and credentials for the appointment at the rank of full professor.
