ASI is a service organization managing the licensing of the AARP brand and related assets and overseeing the provider relationships that deliver products and services to the 50 population.

Oversees the management of the day-to-day activities of high impact travel industry products, multiple products, and/or complex product programs. Serves as the primary contact person for the provider to execute programs. Programs managed at this level may be visible, with moderate complexity (requiring some expertise in specialty areas), carry moderate risk (regarding organizational brand and/or organizational liability) and have moderate revenue impact. Incumbents may manage multiple projects with moderate to low levels of complexity, risk and revenue impact. Responsible for shared goals of AARP, AARP Services, Inc. (ASI), and provider-partners that will increase membership value, support membership acquisition and renewal. Responsible for program budget and driving revenue and/or engagement. Ensures program meets the highest levels of member satisfaction and service.
Responsible for management of the day to day provider relationship and activities to ensure health of the product/program continues: ensures program growth, development and evolution is ongoing.
Reviews, monitors, and assesses overall program or product budgets, business and operation plans for current and future years. Provides input into the development of these plans with the provider. Works to insure the execution of these plans will continuously improve program performance and member satisfaction. Oversees and evaluates all product and pricing changes that are recommended by providers. Manages the ongoing quality and compliance review process of the program and provider/partner.
Works with the Director to set strategic direction for the program and program development.
Responsible for all provider/partner activities including those within AARP Services and AARP, with consultation with Director.
Works with the provider/partner in the development and management of best in class service in the delivery of products and services. Maintains, develops and seeks industry knowledge. Responsible for understanding the product and competition. Completes periodic competitive assessments of program or products in order to monitor relative value within the market place; identify the features and competitive advantages versus the competition.
Works with the provider on the development of a continuous improvement process for all program and product categories.
Manages systems and processes to assure compliance with all contract terms including oversight of marketing plans, product operational plans, and product enhancement.
Identifies potential products and partners and works with New Product staff to develop new product business opportunities. Determines and directs future product enhancement decisions based on member wants and needs.
Responsible for the oversight of the program to include areas such as Marketing, Operations, Finance, Legal and Member Relations.
Ensures AARP’s mission, objectives, and key messages are effectively, accurately and consistently communicated throughout all marketing programs.
Works with provider to develop overall program budget and to meet revenue, expense and customer satisfaction goals. Collaborates to prepare financial projections for program and products on a periodic basis.
Oversees and monitors each assigned provider. Makes recommendations to AARP Services leadership regarding any provider financial issues.
Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred) and 6-10 years of relationship/program/product management experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience related to the duties of the position.
Extensive program/product knowledge in multiple business areas including marketing, operations, account/product management and retail.
Experience managing partnerships in the travel industry desired.
Experience in travel supplier and/or agency environment desired.
Significant experience in online marketing, and/or relationship/product management desired.
Proven skills in managing large and or multiple programs/accounts .Ability to communicate and work effectively with multiple levels and disciplines of program providers.
Ability to identify key issues through a combination of analysis, knowledge, and experience and the ability to exercise good judgment in sensitive situations.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to identify needed steps/actions to be taken to professionally and effectively manage a program.
Excellent written, verbal, visual/presentation and interpersonal communications skills.
Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
