Travel Agency Jobs

Travel agencies can be small independent organisations, specialists with detailed knowledge of specific travel products, or large chains offering a variety of travel options. Travel agencies are made up of travel executives, travel agents, and the agency managers. Their responsibilities will however depend on the size of the organisation and the customer base.
Travel executives in a travel agency provide a one-stop travel shop experience to customers. They handle all walk in, telephone, and email enquiries related to travel.
Their responsibilities include: handling international/domestic ticketing, visa/insurance handling; hotel booking/guest house for personnel on tour; co-ordination with internal employees as well as vendors; and managing hotel booking and allotment of car to employee and guest.
Travel agents of a travel agency assess individual's and business people's needs to help them make the best possible travel arrangements. An agent may specialize by type of travel, such as leisure or business, or destination, such as Africa or Europe. Travel agents also promote travel packages on behalf of cruise lines, resorts, and specialty travel groups.
Travel agency managers usually work from retail outlets offering consumer or business travel products. Their responsibilities include sales development, staff/financial management, and daily operational management. All travel agency managers are responsible for developing strategies to hit or exceed sales targets, regardless of the size of the outlet or products offered.
