The responsibility of Product Data Specialist is to input and maintain all services and products in to the reservation system, update existing package content and pricing regularly, propose new product and package ideas, monitor product for maximum availability, assist sales team on special requested product.
The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Enter new and update FIT contracts for sightseeing, car rentals, air, rail, transfers, and hotels for all brands and destinations into reservation system
Monitor supplier contract dates to ensure packages are available for sale at least 8 months in advance
Work in partnership with vendors via e-mail, fax, and phone in order to contract and/or renew contract agreements when required
Communicate to the Product Manager and Reservations Manager with the latest specials and/or changes to contracts
Maintain vendor information and ensure that information is accurate and as per company requirements, deactivate contracts as necessary by deadline dates
Quality control data entry by verifying work done in Reservation Module and on relevant websites
Monitor hotel allocations and request additional inventory to be contracted when necessary
Analyze sales performance and make recommendations for new/discontinuation of products; packages; services
Demonstrate independent decision making ability while understanding the contract agreements and commercial implications
Provide excellent support and information to all co-workers
Provide support to other Product department staff as required
Other duties as assigned by Manager
Minimum education requires a Bachelor’s degree in Travel and Tourism, Business, Hospitality Management, International relations or similar field, or equivalent experience
Experience in Travel and Tourism or similar field a plus
Self-motivated, demonstrating the ability to work independently and as a team player
Excellent communication skills, presenting information and ideas professionally with clarity & confidence, while being open, honest & objective
Proficient in using MS Office products, specifically Excel
Flexibility, demonstrating the ability to adapt to new situations and moving goals
Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Duties and responsibilities are generally performed in an office environment. Environmental conditions generally include ambient inside temperature, ambient inside lighting and ambient inside low noise levels. Mobility demands generally include frequent sitting and occasional standing. Sensory demands generally include keyboarding, computer terminal and telephone operation.
