Summary of Position:
The Ticketing Specialist sells theater memberships and takes direct ticket orders via the phone. S/he will act as a primary contact for patrons while providing exceptional service and offering assistance to improve the overall customer experience. At shows, the position will sometimes work the VIP Lounge or may work a table promoting membership and the organization’s mission. The position requires weekend availability and the ability to work evenings until 8pm some of the week.
Responsible for generating maximum revenue by selling theater memberships and individual tickets for performances.
Create and develop new business by regularly pitching new prospects through phone prospecting and networking at shows.
Provide the highest level of customer service through all interactions with patrons.
May work the VIP lounge at shows, including setting up the lounge, welcoming guests and cleaning up.
Represent the organization at shows with the purpose of selling memberships and promoting the organization’s mission and presence in the community.
Must become proficient in using all aspects of ticketing system software.
Maintain accurate records of all prospecting activities and closed sales.
Basic online research skills and use of Microsoft office.
Other duties as assigned and needed.
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and demonstrate that s/he can perform the essential functions of the job.
Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
Bilingual, English & Spanish is a plus!
Hospitality sales experience preferred!
Prior experience in ticket sales, telemarketing, appointment scheduling, or cold-calling techniques is preferred.
Must have outstanding customer service skills and experience.
Excellent verbal communication skills and able to effectively work with the public in a professional manner.
Ideal candidate should be a professional, motivated, enthusiastic, flexible, and dependable team player.
Accurate record-keeping and data entry experience required.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Ability to adapt in a fast pace and consistently changing environment.
Strength in time management, administrative ability and organizational skills.
Ability to lift up to 40lbs and remain standing for extended periods of time when needed.
Strong computer skills; ideally with experience in a CRM software program.
