Out of state applications will not be considered.JOB TITLE: Expedition Specialist (Travel Sales & Client Service, Small-Ship Cruises)OFFICE LOCATION: West SeattleABOUT THE COMPANY: ExpeditionTrips is a travel company specializing in small-ship cruises and tours to remote destinations, with a focus on Antarctica, the Arctic, the Galapagos Islands, Alaska, and the Amazon, among others.JOB DESCRIPTION: Travel Sales and Client Services \/ Monday-Friday 8:00AM–5:00PM (full time)We are seeking a dynamic, articulate and upbeat individual with demonstrated sales success and extensive international travel experience to join our 17-person team. As an Expedition Specialist, you will apply detailed destination knowledge, expert trip planning assistance, and effective sales skills to help existing and prospective clients research, plan and book their trips of a lifetime to some of the planet’s most incredible destinations.This position emphasizes consulting and relationship building, and requires a self-assured and energetic telephone presence as well as the capability to convert leads into sales. You will utilize your exceptional communication skills to correspond with clients by phone and email primarily, and enthusiastically help them navigate all aspects of travel planning for scheduled expedition cruises as well as custom and private land arrangements, following all bookings through departure. You will also work closely with international vendors and build strong relationships with our travel partners.Compensation includes base salary plus bonuses based on sales performance, 401K, medical, and travel benefits.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree required2 years of Sales experience strongly preferredInternational travel experience essential (South America preferred)Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (including excellent grammar)Patience, strong situational awareness, and ability to customize communication to each particular clientTravel industry experience a plusPassion for travel, nature, and wildlifeRidiculous attention to detailTopnotch organizational skillsFriendly, engaging and positive attitudeGreat sense of humor and awesome team playerAbility to manage and meet simultaneous deadlines (effective prioritization and task-juggling)Self-motivated and able to work independently (including self-learning)Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office, database software, online applications, etc.)Desire to work in an office setting and a small founder-owned businessProficiency in foreign language a plus
