is hiring a Private Travel Manager to scale the team to meet new demand.
This is a new position, which has been added to Private Travel team during a period of high growth.
The Private Travel Manager is responsible for the execution of all private travel trips. There is a wide variety of responsibility including managing a growing team of travel consultants and travel coordinators, owning your own portfolio of clients and bookings, overseeing trip profit and loss reporting, building and maintaining agent and hotel partnerships, and supporting continuous improvement and innovation. This individual will ensure the whole team is providing guests with the highest level of customer service and developing world-class, personalized travel experiences.
The Private Travel Manager will report to the Managing Director of Private Travel. They will manage a growing team of 7-10 direct reports.
Lead the travel consultant team including hiring, training, evaluating, mentoring, and developing staff.
Foster a collaborative team environment.
Oversee team standards and the adoption of new processes or central systems.
Manage innovation and support marketing programs.
Ensure team is completing all client / trip milestones and processes in a satisfactory manner.
Build, maintain and oversee relationships with local agents, hotel partners, air partners, and insurance vendors.
Manage client surveys and overall client satisfaction.
Create fully customized travel programs for your own portfolio of clients including responding to and booking new leads. Manage everything from itinerary development to trip completion.
Manage trip financials and negotiate hotel and land services as needed with overseas destination management companies.
Financial management including invoice review, payments, pricing, and trip profit/loss reporting. Work with accounting to close / reconcile trips.
Travel as required to increase knowledge of destinations, maintain relationships with vendors and connect with product.
6 years travel industry and/or very relevant luxury services.
Previous management experience is required. Demonstrated ability to manage a team under pressure and monitor product execution, team activities and processes.
Highly developed interpersonal skills, capable of negotiating with several stakeholders.
Project management skills and an ability to communicate with all parties to keep the process moving forward.
Knowledge of global destinations and demonstrated ability to leverage that experience for product oversight.
Strong oral and written communication skills required, and previous experience working with high-end clientele is a must.
Positive attitude and an ability to work well in a team environment and think creatively to resolve issues.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
Experience with system implementations preferred but not required.
Well-traveled, either professionally or personally, and a passion for travel.
