Dynetics, a producer of aerospace and defense products, is building a new facility in Huntsville, Ala. that will bring 350 high-paying jobs to the area.
The company announced the expansion Thursday morning at a press conference along with Gov. Bob Riley. According to local station WAFF, the high-tech facility will provide the company with space for hardware integration and space systems work and will provide added real estate for specialty item production.
Engineers, technicians and other trained specialists will be brought on board to staff the facility. Hiring will commence next summer.
“When you can bring 350 jobs that pay over an average of $100,000 a year, that truly is incredible,” said Riley. “They’re building a foundation that’s going to serve us for the next generation…I can remember a time not long ago when people would say ‘I don’t know if I want to go to Alabama.’ That’s changing, and companies like this do more to change that stereotype than anyone else can do.”
Construction will be begin in November and is completed to be scheduled in 2012.
