Kimberly-Clark corp. has announced that it is more than doubling a previously announced expansion of its manufacturing facility in Conway, Arkansas. The company had originally planned a $25 million expansion which would have brought 40 new jobs to the town of 57,000. Early today a city official announced that the plans had been upsized to a $65 million expansion bringing in 100 new jobs.
Conway mayor Tab Townsell was ebullient in describing the new development, saying that an expansion such as this one “is unheard of in this economy.”
