A $250 million investment in Georgia Pacific’s paper mill in Crossett, Arkansas is expected to bring more than 400 construction jobs and 40 permanent positions.
“They’ll be around the paper-making and the converting process so they’re similar to the jobs we have there today so we expect those jobs to be very attractive in those region[s],” said CEO of Georgia Pacific, Jim Hannan.
The move will increase the production capacity of Quilted Northern toilet paper.
“This is the largest investment I’ve ever seen in my entire career,” said Vice President Karen Dickinson. “To hear that our sight was the one that was selected, it was just wonderful,” she continued.
