Rockwell Collins to Slash 600 jobs By Erik Even  |  Dated: 02-10-2009

Rockwell Collins is cutting 30 jobs at its Richardson, Texas facility as part of a plan to eliminate 500 positions company-wide.

A spokesperson for the aerospace concern, which employs 975 in Richardson, said most of those cuts will happen this month February.

Two hundred of the 500 positions being cut will come from Rockwell’s Cedar Rapids, Iowa headquarters, and another 250 jobs will be cut at company facilities in California and Florida.

The company also is eliminating 100 contract jobs as part of the cost-reduction strategy.
