Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels says the city can move up some road, utility and park projects, to create more than 1,500 jobs in the next two years.
The Seattle Jobs Forward package announced today accelerates $315 million worth of projects from local levies and the city capital improvement program.
The city council will be asked to adjust the budget to create jobs more quickly.
Nickels also said the city could help developers by extending time on building permits and limiting environmental studies.
