United Federation of Teachers: Layoffs are Avoidable

A townhall event was hosted in Queens by Councilman Mark Weprin and the United Federation of Teachers union. The meeting was the first of five that local leaders plan to hold to speak out against Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s proposed teacher layoffs. Councilman Weprin and the UFT are hoping to raise awareness of the situation throughout the community.
