Goldman Sachs, one of the biggest U.S. banks is expanding it’s job operations in Singapore and Brazil. They plan to add 1,000 positions in the Singapore branch alone in an effort to reduce the costs by $1.24 million in the next year. Most other branches of the bank will suffer a layoff but the U.S. branches will be hit the most. The Brazilian work force will also be increased by around 20% meaning a total of approximately 300 employees. This is said to be a move to capture on the country’s economic boom.
