These days the word apprentice is referred to celebrities bickering in the boardroom, while being mediated by Donald Trump and his minions. Real life apprenticeship offers a promising route for preparing large number of students for high skilled jobs. According to Diana Auer Jones, college is not a good fit for many students. She calls for an expansion of the options available, so that each person can find the right path towards their success. In the U.S. apprenticeship is generally considered to be labor programs for training students to work in the skilled trades or crafts. They are not viewed as education programs.
