Even though U.S. has a high unemployment rate, businesses states that that it is difficult to find qualified applicants. The skill gap has widened as recovery of the U.S. economy sputtered. As a result, some large companies are taking actions to attract and ensure students are educated in needed fields. Instead of cutting spending to reduce deficits, federal government should provide funding to needed programs to educate students and boost our workforce skills.
