United Way to Cut 43 Jobs as Donations Dry Up

Agencies supported by the United Way will receive $5 million less overall this year.

The United Way also will cut or combine 43 jobs, one third of its workforce, to save another $5 million.

United Way of America, based in Alexandria, Virginia, is a non-profit organization that works with nearly 1,300 local offices throughout the US in a coalition of charitable organizations, to pool efforts in fundraising and support.
