Michigan Economy Improves By jim  |  Dated: 06-05-2012

The employment picture in Michigan is looking up, as the economy within the state continues to improve at a faster than average pace, making it easier for the jobless in the area to find employment. In fact, it has not been this simple to find employment in the state of Michigan for the past five years, so those who are looking for a job opportunity have the absolute best chance of finding employment at this point in time. At this point, the employment picture is good for Michigan, as more people are being hired and the unemployment rate is dropping. With employment being at an all-time high, it is believed that the chances of being hired are quite favorable for those who are jobless and in need of a job in the Michigan area.

Michigan’s labor market was not always doing so well and, in fact, struggled for quite some time, dealing with an extremely high unemployment rate in the past, which was once hire than the nations average unemployment rate. While things were not always good for Michigan and at times, the economy was sluggish, drastic improvements are being made and the economy in the area is really turning around for the better. It has also been anticipated that the unemployment rate for the state of Michigan will only continue to drop, becoming lower than the unemployment rate for the entire nation as a whole, which is nothing but good news for those who live in or around the area.

The Bureau of Labor Statistic provided information that sows Michigan has had the biggest decline in the jobless rate when compared between the months of April from 2011 until 2012, as the jobless rate decreased by a total of 2.2 percent. The jobless rate was at 10.5 percent but by April of 2012, the jobless rate was at 8.3 percent. The commodity prices are also showing stability and some prices of are starting to drop, which is a good sign. It is believed that the drop with the commodity price could be due to competition or it could be due to the liquidation of some inventory, it ultimately depends.

One thing is for sure and that is that the growth in Michigan is definitely sharp, even though the economy for the United States as a whole does not seem to be growing so sharply and actually seems to be slowing down a bit, due to a number of different reasons. Michigan surely seems to have a strong economy, an economy that seems to be continuously improving. With such improvement, many manufacturers and employers are feeling quite optimistic and more job are being created, which creates a cycle of nothing but positive things.

Testimonial of the Week

What I liked about the service is that it had such a comprehensive collection of jobs! I was using a number of sites previously and this took up so much time, but in joining EmploymentCrossing, I was able to stop going from site to site and was able to find everything I needed on EmploymentCrossing.

Only TravelingCrossing consolidates every job it can find in the domain and puts all of the job listings it locates in one place.

  • We have more jobs than any other job board.
  • We list jobs you will not find elsewhere that are hidden in small regional publications and employer websites

  • We are private, and therefore far fewer people are applying for the jobs on our site than are applying for those on public job boards.
I like the volume of jobs on EmploymentCrossing. The quality of jobs is also good. Plus, they get refreshed very often. Great work!
