Plantronics to Shut China Plant, Cut Workers

Santa Cruz, California’s Plantronics will cut 670 positions and close its manufacturing plant in Suzhou, China.

Plantronics will outsource its production of Bluetooth headsets to an existing supplier in China.

The plan is expected to be complete by October 2009.

Founded in 1962, Plantronics is a hardware company which specializes in lightweight headsets, and is the market leader worldwide.
