It looks like Honda is getting ready to hire on more workers for their plant in Indiana. The facility is looking to grow its manufacturing base by brining in more workers to deal with its increasing demand for product. The company made an announcement that many in the manufacturing community will be happy to hear.

The company said the following in its release, “Honda Manufacturing of Indiana, LLC (HMIN) announced today that it is investing $40 million to increase annual production capacity by 50,000 units to a total of 250,000 vehicles.  The plant will hire approximately 300 new production associates later this year in preparation for the increased production that will start early next year.”

The company is looking to hire on several 100 workers, and they are willing to train the right people. The company is requiring that anyone who wants to apply have a high school diploma; no technical or vocational training is required. Workers do not have to have experience in heavy manufacturing or in the automotive industry in order to apply for the job. Base pay is $15.44 an hour.

The company is quick to laud the work of the production facility in the same release, to explain why this facility will be the one getting more jobs,” Our team in Indiana has successfully managed many challenges in its first four years, including the launch of three all-new models and the expansion of our production capacity is a result of their efforts,” said Senior Vice President Bob Nelson. “We are excited about these new opportunities for our plant, because it shows that the customer is embracing the products we make here in Indiana.”
