Life Technologies Brings 50 Jobs to Maryland

Laboratory supply manufacturer Life Technologies will add 50 jobs in Frederick, Maryland.

Company officials and Governor Martin O’Malley said the expansion will add to the more than 250 existing jobs at the plant.

O’Malley said the state is investing $250,000 in the project, as part of an initiative to further the growth of Maryland’s biotechnology industry.

Life Technologies, based in Carlsbad, California, was created by the merger of Invitrogen and Applied Biosystems.
