Aavid Thermalloy is cutting 90 jobs, most from its manufacturing plant in Laconia, New Hampshire. Some management jobs will also be cut at the corporate headquarters in Concord.
These were the company’s third round of layoffs in in nine months.
Aavid was founded in 1964, and acquired competitor Thermalloy in 1999. Aavid supplies thermal management technology, focusing on heat sinks, which aid the inner fans of laptops in preventing them from overheating.
The plant in Laconia has 341 employees; the Concord headquarters has 50. Laid off employees will get severance pay, equaling one week’s pay per year of completed service; and will continue to receive health and dental benefits through the last day of the month.
What I liked about the service is that it had such a comprehensive collection of jobs! I was using a number of sites previously and this took up so much time, but in joining EmploymentCrossing, I was able to stop going from site to site and was able to find everything I needed on EmploymentCrossing.
