Motion for police layoffs canceled in Beacon for now By EmploymentCrossing | Dated: 03-06-2013

Beacon officials have cancelled a motion to eliminate two police officer positions during a city council meeting on Monday. The layoffs were threatened because the police refused to switch from their current health care plan to a new high deductible one. The city budget projected a savings if $300,000 if the new plan were to be adopted by all city employees.
