Unpronounceably-named computer chip manufacturer Xilinx will trim 6% of its global workforce, eliminating 200 jobs.
The firm is cutting executive salaries and freezing compensation for others. CEO Moshe Gavrielov will have his annual salary reduced by 20% to $560,000. The board of directors will also see a 20% cut.
Xilinx is the world’s largest supplier of programmable logic devices; the inventor of the field programmable gate array; and the first semiconductor company with a fabless manufacturing model.
