North Carolina Creates Summer Youth Jobs

North Carolina’s Capital Area Workforce Development Board is accepting applications for its seven-week Summer Youth Employment Program, which runs from June 15th until to July 31st.The program provides temporary employment to 600 low-income young people ages 16 to 24 from Wake and Johnston counties. They will be paid $7.25 per hour.
Applicants must be low-income or homeless, school dropouts, youth offenders, pregnant, illiterate, or in foster care.
The Summer Youth Employment Program is made possible through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which provided the CAWDB with a $3.2 million grant.
