Bus company Greyhound Lines will lay off 187 employees in St. Paul, Texas, and 93 employees at Greyhound’s parent company, Cincinnati’s FirstGroup America.
Some employees will be offered relocation.
FirstGroup purchased Laidlaw International, the holding company for Greyhound, in 2007 for $3.4 billion. FirstGroup is the US subsidiary of FirstGroup PLC of Aberdeen, Scotland.
Greyhound Lines is an intercity common carrier of passengers by bus, serving over 3,700 destinations in the United States. It was founded in Hibbing, Minnesota, USA, in 1914 and incorporated as Greyhound Corporation in 1929.
