The North Texas Tollway Authority, or NTTA, will cut 25 staff members effective July 1st, as part a plan to transition the President George Bush Turnpike into an all-electronic collection tollway.
Those let go will get free outplacement services and accumulated vacation pay. The agency has been moving workers into new positions, and providing training, to avoid further layoffs.
The conversion to all-electronic collection will finish in 2011.
The North Texas Tollway Authority maintains and operates toll roads, bridges and tunnels in the North Texas area. Functioning as a political subdivision of the State of Texas under Chapter 366 of the Transportation Code, the NTTA is empowered to acquire, construct, maintain, repair and operate turnpike projects; to raise capital for construction projects through the issuance of Turnpike Revenue Bonds; and to collect tolls to operate, maintain and pay debt service on those projects.
What I liked about the service is that it had such a comprehensive collection of jobs! I was using a number of sites previously and this took up so much time, but in joining EmploymentCrossing, I was able to stop going from site to site and was able to find everything I needed on EmploymentCrossing.
