Louisville, Kentucky Human Services to Cut Jobs

Louisville, Kentucky’s eight Neighborhood Place centers, which provide food stamps, health care and education to at-risk families, will lose 16 workers in a news city budget. Also, two vacant positions will be left unfilled.The Neighborhood Place is one of 16 finalists nationwide for the annual “Innovations in Government” award from Harvard University’s Kennedy School’s Ash Institute for Democratic Governance and Innovation.
Neighborhood Place operates 11 one-stop locations for accessible health, education, employment and human services. About 1,000 families seek services at Neighborhood Places. Last year, Neighborhood Place provided services for more than 255,000 families, a record for the organization.
