Lockheed Martin has sent layoffs notices to all 535 employees at San Jose, California’s Lockheed Martin Information Systems & Geographic Services. The jobs may cut due to the loss of two defense programs.
Layoffs would take place in August, and severance packages will be offered, along with outplacement and an employee assistance support program.
Lockheed Martin is a multinational aerospace manufacturer and advanced technology company, formed in 1995 by the merger of Lockheed with Martin Marietta, and employs 140,000 people worldwide. It is the world’s largest defense contractor by revenue.
