Plasan to Hire 300 in Vermont

Plasan North America has received a new Pentagon contract, and will hire up to 300 new workers at its Bennington, Vermont facility.Under the contract, Plasan will manufacture armor for military all-terrain vehicles to be used in the Afghanistan war.
Up to 200 jobs will be created at Plasan: the rest will come from subcontractors.
Plasan America is a subsidiary of Israel’s Plasan, an Israeli owned vehicle manufacturer established in 1985. It develops, manufactures and assembles custom-built vehicle armor systems and chassis up-armor designs. Plasan is a non-public company and is wholly-owned by Kibbutz Sasa, a communal village of some 100 families in Northern Israel.
