Labor Dept. Aiding Laid Off Ethan Allen Workers

The US Department of Labor is aiding laid off Ethan Allen workers in Vermont and New Hampshire.Two hundred and fifty employees let go from the furniture maker’s Beecher Falls, Vermont plant are eligible for training, job search and relocation allowances, income support and other services.
Danbury, Connecticut’s Ethan Allen Global is a North American furniture chain with almost 300 stores across the United States and Canada. It was founded in 1932 by two brothers-in-law, Nathan S. Ancell and Theodore Baumritter. In 2005, it employed 5,800 people. It has eight manufacturing facilities in the United States and one in Mexico.
