Beaumont Hospitals Cuts 353 Jobs in Michigan

In the third round of cuts within a year, Beaumont Hospitals is cutting 353 more jobs across three hospitals. In addition to layoffs, Beaumont is cutting compensation for administrators, doctors and others that were immune from the last round of pay cuts. The company is also renegotiating contracts with its suppliers and beefing up collections efforts on delinquent accounts.

Beaumont Hospital is a regional medical system in the greater Detroit, Michigan area. It first opened with a 238 bed hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan in 1955. The hospital system is named after William Beaumont, a medical doctor at an army post on Mackinac Island, Michigan.
