King County, Seattle is looking at a $56 million shortfall in its 2010 budget. Executive of the county, Kurt Triplett, proposed on Monday a series of layoffs, furloughs and park closures to handle the massive gap.
Triplett’s proposal would see 376 jobs cut. On Monday, layoff notices were sent out to 145 employees with the remaining positions staying vacant, according to county officials.
The budget also contains $6.5 million in furloughs and an additional 16 jobs from the Executive’s office.
What I liked about the service is that it had such a comprehensive collection of jobs! I was using a number of sites previously and this took up so much time, but in joining EmploymentCrossing, I was able to stop going from site to site and was able to find everything I needed on EmploymentCrossing.
