Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota laid off 100 workers during the past week.
Based in Eagan, the health insurance company claimed flat customer enrollment levels, resulting from the recession, were to blame. Layoffs affected mostly the information technology and operations business unites. Of the company’s 4,000 employees, around 300 have been laid off this year.
Laid-off employees will receive severance packages and outplacement services said spokeswoman Pam Lux.
