The New York Times is eliminating 100 jobs from its newsroom but say it hopes most of those will come through buyouts and early retirements. The newspaper mailed all 1,225 newsroom employees with the details of the buyout, which offers two week’s salary for every year worked with the company. Last year the Times also cut 100 positions in the newsroom, but then created more jobs soon after.
