Vice President Biden is expected to announce on Tuesday that Delaware has struck a deal with electric car maker Fisker Automotivethat will bring in $175 million and 2000 jobs. Fiskerwill reopen and retool a plant previously owned by General Motors under an agreement that will give Fisker unspecified tax incentives. The plant will be operational by 2011 and is expected to create as many as 2000 jobs, many of which will be filled by former GM or Chrysler employees.

Fisker Automotive is headquartered in Irvine, California and was founded in 2007. They currently have one car, a hybrid gas/electric vehicle, but plan to make a new line of cars in Delaware under the name Project Nina, after one of the three ships used by Christopher Columbus.
