California’s Optivus Proton Therapy is building a new medical center south of Dayton. The center will offer tumor therapy using proton beams that attack tumors without damaging the surrounding tissue. The new facility is expected to generate $170 million per year and create 400 new jobs, paying an average of $66,000 per year.
Construction will begin next year on the center and will be completed by 2013. The construction project itself will create 800 construction and construction related jobs.
