Alcoa, the world’s third largest producer of aluminum, is cutting 235 domestic jobs at two sites. 135 jobs will be cut at a facility in Warwick, Indiana and another 90 from its plant in Tennessee. The Tennessee plant, located in Blount County, lost 450 jobs last year when it shut down its smelting operation there in the face decreased global demand for aluminum. Altogether, Alcoa cut over 13,000 jobs last year, although not as many as originally anticipated.
Alcoa is headquartered in Pittsburgh and employed 87,000 people worldwide as of 2009.
What I liked about the service is that it had such a comprehensive collection of jobs! I was using a number of sites previously and this took up so much time, but in joining EmploymentCrossing, I was able to stop going from site to site and was able to find everything I needed on EmploymentCrossing.
