Webster Financial Corp.’s main subsidiary, Webster Bank, plans to add 150 new positions in sales and service throughout the Northeast.

The jobs are being created at various Webster Bank branches, its customer care center and its small business banking entities in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Westchester County, N.Y.

 ”In order to achieve our goal of increasing lending to small- and medium-sized businesses by $400 million this year, we have a growing need for individuals who share our passion for high-quality personal service and our mission to help families and businesses reach their financial goals,” said James Smith, Webster chairman and CEO. “We are especially interested in bankers who are experienced in sales of financial products and services and in small business banking.”

Full- and part-time positions for days, evenings, and weekends are available in Webster’s Customer Care Center in Wallingford, Conn., and retail branches across four states. There will be four job fairs in coming weeks in Massachusetts and Connecticut. Successful candidates can expect job offers within one week of each fair, according to a company press release.
