Pitney Bowes Laying Off 59 in Missouri

A warehouse the U.S. Postal Service leases to Pitney Bowes in Bridgeton, Mo. is closing in early May and the result will be 59 layoffs. The action comes as part of the USPS’s plan to reduce costs, a spokesman for Pitney Bowes told the St. Louis Business Journal.

While the warehouse is leased by Pitney Bowes, the decision by the USPS requires the company to vacate the building before the lease expires. Pitney Bowes is based in Stamford, Conn. and has about 35,000 employees around the world.
