As part of a restructuring plan to improve efficiency, SABIC Innovative Plastics is laying off 80 workers at its plant in Wood County, West Virginia. A company spokeswoman told the Associated Press production of two resin products will be moved to a company facility in Ottawa, Ill.
Shelia Nabb told the AP the switch will allow SABIC to produce the products at a lower cost because the Ottawa facility has a continuous operation.
The layoff will be effective in April. Nabb said the company is offering a voluntary layoff program.
SABIC is part of Saudi Basic Industries Corp., one of the world’s largest chemical makers.
What I liked about the service is that it had such a comprehensive collection of jobs! I was using a number of sites previously and this took up so much time, but in joining EmploymentCrossing, I was able to stop going from site to site and was able to find everything I needed on EmploymentCrossing.
