EMC Corp. to Add 2,000 Workers This Year

EMC Corp., which reported a 92 percent increase in earnings during the first quarter on Wednesday, said the company plans to hire an additional 2,000 workers by the end of the year.EMC, which sells hardware used to store information generated in company data centers, appears poised for a big year. The Wall Street Journal reports that analysts expect cloud computing to continue to expand, which would lead to an increase demand for information technology products. The company already hired 800 new workers during the first quarter, according to its chief financial officer, David Goulden.
EMC is based in Hopkinton, Mass. and has approximately 40,000 employees around the world. The company has 400 sales offices in more than 60 countries.
