New York City — Over 200 Metro Transportation Authority employees have been laid off in the past month but MTA officials and the Transport Workers Union Local 100 are trying to avoid 650 further cuts currently slated to take place on June 27.
“We’ve recognized,” said MTA chief Jay Walder, “that it would be good for us to be able to sit down quietly and see how we can work through things, and I’m hopeful we’ll be able to do that.”
Negotiations between the two sides have been tense for several months, with MTA and the union frequently attacking each other in the press.
I was very pleased with the TravelingCrossing. I found a great position within a short amount of time … I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a better opportunity.
