Mass Layoffs Headed To Fort McCoy, Wisconsin

The Bering Straits AKI company based in Fort McCoy, Wisconsin has released a statement, announcing that it is planning a series of layoffs.70 employees working at Bering Straits AKI in Fort McCoy will be laid off starting on September 1st. The company says more will follow.
Also stated in the notice are the positions likely to be affected. Those include, but are not limited to, engineer techs, clerks, secretaries, and a locksmith.
Bering Straits Aki claims that the layoffs are due to alterations in contracts between the company and the federal government.
