The city of Deerfield Beach, Florida is facing mass layoffs to the city’s parks and recreation, public works and environmental services departments. A total of 106 employees will be laid off, city officials announced on Friday.
24 full-time employees and 82 part-timers will be immediately relieved of their duties. The full-time employees will receive full pay through September 30th while the part-time employees will receive two-weeks pay.
“These are extremely challenging economic times, and this was not an easy decision to recommend,” said the interim City Manager Burgess Hanson. “Unfortunately, financial constraints resulting from the loss of property values and the continued decline in the Florida and U.S. economies required changes in our operations of city departments.”
What I liked about the service is that it had such a comprehensive collection of jobs! I was using a number of sites previously and this took up so much time, but in joining EmploymentCrossing, I was able to stop going from site to site and was able to find everything I needed on EmploymentCrossing.
