Good news coming out of Michigan as last week’s data showed a drop in unemployment claims by almost 5,000. The data represents the decrease in layoffs in the automobile industry and is a step in the right direction for Michigan’s overall economy.
Michigan’s unemployment rate has fallen below Nevada’s. The automaker state no longer has the worst unemployment rate in the country.
Though this is some good news, Michigan still has a remarkably high rate of unemployment, standing at a staggering 13.2%, the second worst in the country.
