109 hourly workers have been officially laid off at Trane’s Zero Street manufacturing plant in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The layoffs, which took place late Friday, are the latest in a series that Trane announced in August occurred on schedule. Trane initially announced that 212 people would be laid off, but that number has since been adjusted down to 176.The recent layoffs are part of Trane’s plan to move a product line currently manufactured at its Zero Street facility to a factory in Lynn Haven Florida. About 200 workers will remain at Zero Street after the layoffs are complete.
