Over the next five years Ventana Medical Systems Inc. plans on hiring some 500 new employees in Tucson, Arizona.
The cancer diagnostics company is making an $180 million investment, receiving $3 million in job training stimulus funds, and having $8 million in property taxes waived for several years.
“We have a fantastic team here, we have a great facility here and we are able to leverage terrific partnerships and collaborations that we have in southern Arizona,” said president Hany Massarany.
The positions will range from sales and manufacturing to scientific research and engineering. The salaries are expected to be more than the Pima County average.
