Insurance and risk management business Marsh Inc. will create around 150 new jobs if they follow through with a plan to expand their operations in Newton, Iowa.
“Every indication we’ve had from them is they’re convinced central Iowa is a place they want to expand,” said Frank Liebl, Newton Development Corporation Director. “So we’re very hopeful that once everything is in place, they’ll follow through with their plans. It could be a good thing for Newton for a lot of jobs over a three-year period.”
The expansion is projected to cost the company about $5 million, with Iowa assisting $450,000 in state financial aid, and a $90,000 match from the city of Newton.
