Michigan City, Indiana-based Weil-McLain announced today that it would close one of the production lines at its Michigan City manufacturing plant. Approximately 90 workers will lose their jobs as a result. The production line in question manufactures cast iron boilers for home heating. The layoffs will go into effect on January 9th of 2011.
Weil-McLain, which maintains manufacturing operation in Michigan City, Indiana and Eden, North Carolina, is the largest manufacturer of cast iron boilers in North America.
